A publicly traded Jordanian corporation established in 1949, and one of the world's top phosphate producers and exporters. JPMC provides IDMI with phosphate ore under the 20-year BOOT agreement and operates three major mines and a state-of-the-art industrial complex in Aqaba.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about IDMI's process and location.
Phosphate beneficiation is the industrial process of upgrading low-grade phosphate ore into a high-purity concentrate suitable for fertilizer and chemical manufacturing. The process typically involves scrubbing, grinding, classification, flotation, and drying to remove impurities and concentrate the phosphate content. At IDMI's beneficiation plant in Eshidiya, this process converts raw ore into phosphate concentrate meeting Premium, High, and Standard grade specifications.
IDMI's plant processes raw phosphate ore through seven sequential stages — scrubbing, grinding, classification, flotation, thickening and filtration, drying, and storage and dispatch — converting low-grade ore into high-purity phosphate concentrate.
IDMI's beneficiation plant is located in Eshidiya (also Al-Shidya, الشيدية) in Ma'an Governorate, southern Jordan, approximately 300 km southeast of Amman and 125 km northeast of Aqaba.
IDMI's head office is located at 3rd Floor, 69 King Abdullah II Street, Amman, Jordan.
